The 2024 edition of the Swiss documentary film festival Visions du Reel launched 29 projects in its industry section VdR-Industry. The selection of works in various stages of production was determined by artistic ambition and strong themes, as well as international potential. Sixteen of the films were invited to pitch their project to professionals in the film industry during the VdR-Pitching and VdR-Work in Progress forums. This year, two new cash awards have been introduced. The Eurimages Co-production Development Award was handed over to «The Last Days of the Hospital» directed by Mehran Tamadon (My Worst Enemy, Bassidji). The Xe Award, accompanied with CHF 20000 in cash, went to Salvatore of Lucan’s «Life of Tipu» The film is about an Irish-Bangladeshi artist who discovers his father’s discord on Facebook and embarks on an odyssey to meet him.
